This program focuses on the real-world skills practitioners need when a client receives an IRS audit notice. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how audits begin, how examiners analyze returns, and how to develop practical strategies to properly respond and defend their clients during the examination process. The training includes one foundational session followed by three advanced practitioner workshops that focus on the tools and strategies used in IRS audits. Participants will learn how to approach examinations professionally, analyze financial records, and develop effective audit defense strategies. Classes begin May 7th and will run every Thursday in May starting at 12:00 PM. Each session is 2–3 hours. The IRS Audit Playbook: How Practitioners Navigate Examinations This foundational session provides a comprehensive understanding of the IRS audit process and how practitioners should approach examinations from the moment a notice is received through resolution. Participants will learn how audits are initiated, how the examination process unfolds, and how practitioners can effectively manage communication, documentation, and strategy throughout the audit. Bank Deposit Analysis Intensive This workshop teaches practitioners how the IRS reconstructs income using bank records and how tax professionals can analyze deposits, identify non-taxable transactions, and respond when the bank deposit method is used during an examination. Audit Defense Strategy for Practitioners This session focuses on developing an effective strategy for responding to IRS examiners. Participants will learn how to organize documentation, manage information requests, communicate with examiners, and approach the audit process with a structured defense strategy. Live Audit Case Simulation This interactive session walks participants through a realistic audit scenario from the initial IRS notice through the development of an audit response strategy. Participants will review a simulated client file, analyze financial records, and apply audit defense techniques in a practical case setting. For practitioners who want a deeper experience, a Premium Practitioner Cohort option is available. This option includes the full training program along with two additional live case review sessions, where participants can bring real audit situations and work through strategy in a small group setting.
